What I Didn't Show You

What lies behind this door, is what my darling husband and I built for me some months ago.

It is the end section of the garage, which was full of junk, wasn't lined, had no door or window and was filthy with dirt, dust, mouse poo, you name it.

We turned it into this -

My new craft studio!!  I have shelving units behind that false wall.  This shot is taken from the door.

Here are a few more views.

Doesn't it look so neat and tidy?
But don't let that fool you - I cleaned it up for the photo.

Do you see those little dollies on the window ledge?
My daughter and I made those years ago.

Here is a better look.

I made the green one (it's my favourite colour) and the lovely Miss P made the blue one. (That was her favourite colour when she was little. She used to say "My favourite colour is blue. Sky Blue, but not the blue at the bottom of the sky, the blue in the middle").

This is my mother - I put her to work on her last visit, making paper bead necklaces for the Christmas charity event we held at Church.

And this is me, signing the register at my sisters' wedding - that was why my mother was visiting.

See that bit of sun behind me?  Well, that is a miracle that is.  Anyone living on the eastern seaboard of Australia this summer (ha! what summer!) will know what I mean.  It poured day and night all week before the wedding, torrential rain the night before and morning of, the sun came out an hour before the wedding, and then poured again the next day, and still hasn't stopped.

Cheers
Fi

  1. Hello stranger! I would ask where you have been off to, but believe it was to go to school and so you might have been having your time studying. I am in awe of what you and your husband have done to the back of the garage. Every gal needs her own space to do her thing and how wonderful that you have yours. Hope we can expect to see all sorts of neat and crafty items in the future. yes, my giveaway is open to people outside of the states, so please do come back and be sure to enter. Congrats on your 2 year birthday. And those dollies are sweet!

  2. It is so good to see you on here again. What a sweet hubby you have to have made you such a wonderful crafting space. The picture of you at your sister's wedding is very lovely. You looks simply elegant. Very nice choice of dress! Congrats to your sis. ;-)

  3. Are you kidding me? I want to come to your house and play! I love that studio. And those dolls. How cute. When we get moved and finish our house, there will be plenty of room for you to visit. And if we don't like each other in person, you can hibernate in the basement apartment....where I'll be living until we finish the upstairs!

Now I have to tell you I went into panic mode for a minute there. I clicked on your blog, on my side bar, and it said your blog was closed. Then I went to your comment and clicked on your name and it took me here. And I've left some comments on blogs that have not gone through. What is up? Please...do not close your blog without telling me Fi. I would miss you. I hate it when people do that, without even saying buh bye!

We've had a lot of rain here too. Lots. If it were snow, we wouldn't be able to get out of the house for months.

You look beautiful in your sister's wedding. Now I gotta stop blabbing and get ready to go to a party. Not Christmas though. My cousin's son is going back to Afghanistan :-(
