Natural Health Tips

A bunch of Chamomile picked from the garden

Although a long way from perfect, I try as much as I am able, to use natural remedies and products in place of mass produced, refined, processed or synthetic versions.

I'm no expert, but I have dabbled in natural therapies over the years.  I am a trained remedial massage therapist (2yr diploma) and have studied aromatherapy, reflexology, and a little bit of herbal medicine.
I don't have any plans to make a career out of these things, I just want to improve the quality of my family's life.

From time to time I'll be adding a collection of my own ideas, plus your ideas on how to increase either the quality, simplicity or beauty of life with natural/simple living tips.

In a previous post, some of my lovely readers sent in some their ideas on how they use natural treatments.
I will try and list these ideas as best as possible.

Now, I am just 'sticking these on here' as is at the moment.
But when I come back from my holiday (I leave tomorrow), then I will attempt to display the info in a more categorised manner and will be adding in my own tips.

But for now, here is the start.

Aussia Maria
Tea-tree oil as an antiseptic. Garlic & horseradish for sinus. Garlic for everything!! And I LOVE lavender, so calming and smells lovely. Also a huge fan of vanilla - just because.

Hook 'n Yarn Creations

Chamomile and honey for sleeplessness. Mint for growly tummies. Clove oil for tooth-aches. Chocolate and coffee for head-aches (I swear it works!) Oh, and putting baking soda in my shampoo and apple cider vinegar rinses once weekly to keep my very oily hair looking shiny and happy.

The Bee Lady from Hilltop Farm

I LOVE this idea. I used to mess around with herbs A LOT. I had an herbal tea garden, a kitchen garden, a rose garden, and I just loved it. Just looking at your pictures soothes my soul. There are a couple of things I still do, because they are simple. I had a pedicure one time that left my big toe with that horrible fungal issue. I use tea tree oil on it daily. I put it on top and under the toenail and you can hardly even tell the fungal issue is there. I also rub a dab of lavender oil on my temples, right before going to the dentist. It calms me.

Magpie Hollow

I'm so happy to hear you're feeling better. I love essential oils too. I used some patchoelie in handcream I got at the pharmacy. I loved that. You don't have to use much, otherwise it will be too strong.
I love to drink nettle tea to cleanse myself and for the iron. I eat a lot of yoghurt too. On advice of Susun Weed. It seems to help against bladder infections and much more.
Have a great day.

My little tip is a natural product which is garlic based and is FAB to immunise you against basic colds and flu. I work with young children and have been taking this for the past 2 years and haven't had a single cold in that time! I think you could even eat a clove of garlic raw every day but these are pills/tablets and are very easy to take. Garlic Rocks!!!! lol x
