More Fabric and Felting Fun

Mornin' all.
Just thought I'd share more crafty fun from the needlefelting day (sort of wandered off into fabric beads and other things.....)

Don't you  love surrounding yourself with mess and labelling it 'creativity'?

A bit of yoyo stuffing....

Always makes me think of those little purse-shaped entrees you get at the Chinese restaurant when I get to this stage.

Now it's taking shape.

And I was tickled pink with the crochet edging I did around the felted bead thingy.

Don't know what they are all going to be yet (if anything), but it was fun doing it.

Cheers
Fi

  1. ooooh, I love the little things you made. don't know what to call them. They look a little like a pin cushion to me. very inspiring! thanks for sharing your day!
I finished a pair of mitts today. they started out as a hat, but just couldn't get it right. then I kept making mistakes with the silly things.
I also made 2 zip bags, one for a friend and one for me!
Love your blog ~ glad we found each other!

  2. Thankyou Elsa,
Im having a bit of a giggle to myself trying to imagine how a hat turned into mittens!

  3. They look like pin cushions to me too. But they could also be used on a pillow. They could be the flower and you could applique or embroider a stem and leaves. Know what I mean? Anyway, I never thought about stuffing yo yos and I love it. Very cute!

  4. They look like really elegant pin cushions. My mom's ad avid sewer and she loves stuff like this. I may have to whip something up like it for Mother's Day.

  5. These are so cute. My Japanese grandmother used to make things like this for me. She took remnants of very colorful kimono fabric, and stuffed them with rice grains. I think she tried to teach me how to juggle with them but I wasn't a very good pupil. I used some as paper weights.

  6. Mmmm... These are so pretty! I have a few of these little yoyo's lying around. Maybe I will sit with the girls and see what we can come up with... Those little strawberry earrings are so adorable. Feeling inspired to be creative after my visit here today! And I love your new banner. :)

  7. Thanks for the comment on my pattern. I've made this hat with a variety of yarns. The key is to just pick the hook that best fits the yarn. After looking at the hat I think I accidentally added 1 too many increasing rounds and used a hook that's too big. It's still pretty but a little too large for me.

  10. Wow! Looks like you have been up to loads of fun! Is that Amy Butler fabric? These pincushions are beyond adorable.
Kudos to you on creating a lovely granny square pattern. The colors you chose are peaceful, yet still have a nice pop.

Thanks for dropping by and saying hi today. I always love hearing from you, Fi. :-)
